Hello people,

I've got a question about System Requirements.

Are System Requirements based on maximum required settings for a certain game, could a game require more or are they meant as a sort of guideline.

Thanks for any explanations given.

Solution
System Requirements are a rough idea of what the software manufacturer believes is the minimum hardware needed to run the application.

A game can sometimes work if it has less than the system requirements.

If you have over the system requirements, that doesn't mean you won't benefit from faster hardware. The requirement is to run the game at a decent quality and speed. Typically doesn't consider having all of the video settings maxed out, which you will need faster hardware to use.

I began to get doubts when my slightly older PC started to act strange, ever since i haven't dared to put my settings on Max anymore. My current PC has nice hardware and should do just fine, but it is good to know these System Requirements are indeed guidelines. Thanks for the information!
