I recently did a clean reinstall of Windows 10 after a motherboard change and during the installation I didn't delete the "System Reserved Partition" and maybe "Recovery Partition" (not sure if it was present or not).

I formatted the partition where old OS was.

My question is. Are those two partitions updated after OS reinstallation or do they still carry old OS files in them?

HDD was disconnected during the installation process. Unallocated space was created using Samsung Magician software advice on old OS.

Everything looks good there.
System reserved partition houses bootloader. Without it your system wouldn't boot.
Recovery partition usually contains recovery environment. But it is not essential. You can always get into recovery environment with windows installation media.

I guess if I don't get any errors in the future I don't have to worry about it… I don't want to try and reinstall Windows again. I'll ask Microsoft tomorrow though.

And regarding my previous question -"Are those two partitions updated after OS reinstallation or do they still carry old OS files in them?"-

You said yes as they are updated or still have old files?
