Not sure whether this goes here or General but........

I've performed a REPAIR install on XP Pro and updated
install via update scan and download. Situation is that
there are no outstanding updates.

Problem is I have no system restore functionality. There
is no tab when select properties under my computer.

Ive tried to start under services.msc but receive the
message "The System Restore Service on local computer
started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if
they have no work to do, for example, the performance logs
and Alerts Service"

Can anyone help me restore (excuse pun) System restore.

There is another problem related to desktop so please keep
eye out for this

Thanks

For the SR service, the RPC service has to be started as well. If this
does not help, see "Troubleshooting System Restore in Windows XP"
