System Shutdowns When Encoding Video

Hi there,

Newely built PC of mine (This is my 3rd). This issue was happening previously but i fixed it randomly last time and I never worked out how, however, this issues is happening again. Recently I tried to run a batch encode through Handbrake with pretty typical settings and the computer shut down @ about 2%. I tried again, and again with the same result.

Usually I would troubleshoot this myself but I am at a complete loss as to why this is happening. There should be no bottleneck or power throttling on my PC at all. I even monitored the temps and they seem fine to me.

My specs for reference are:
Intel i7 4790K @ Stock speeds
16GB of ram
EVGA Supernova G2 850W Powersupply
GTX 770 4GB
Corsair H105 Watercooler AIO

I have read around that if the powersupply isnt supplying enough power under load then it could shut off the computer. But there is no reason why 850 Watts shouldn't be enough. Another thing i have hear is the drivers are conflicting. Thats not the case as i have uninstalled and reinstalled codec and video drivers now. I even re-installed Handbrake and nothing. Same result.

Any help would be appreciated!

This is strange, the only time I can think of expecting something like this to happen is if you OC'ed the chip, but you've said they're on stock speeds.

Have you tried re-seating the CPU? May help. And make sure both 4pin CPU power connectors are plugged in.

Thanks for your reply. I will try re-seating the CPU when i get home. I will also reset stock configuration inside of BIOS and run windows in safe mode just to make sure.

I will let you know what happens.

P.S. im 99% sure that both of the 4-pin mobo connectors are in but i will cojigger them just to make sure they are in properly.

Thanks
