System Upgrade advice AM4 or LGA 1151?

Hello,

So my current specs are:

Core i5 3570k @4.5ghz 1.12v 24/7
MSI Z77a-g45 MOBO
G.Skill Ripjaws X 16gb 2133mhz 9-11-11-31-2t
MSI GTX 1060 3gb OCV1
SSD 240gb SanDisk Ultra II
HDD 1TB WESTERN DIGITAL BLUE
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B1, 80+ BRONZE

My pc is still gaming capable @1080p 60fps but i already know that lga1155 is a 5/6 years old platform.

I would like to renew core components (CPU, MOBO, MEMORY) trying to keep my pc as the most current generation as i can.

With the Ryzen cpu being released recently i know there's a lot of competition specially with the i5 7600k and the Ryzen 5 1600x.

If i were to upgrade today, should i go AMD or INTEL?

What do you want to do with it? What budget?

I'm also running a 3570k only at 4.3, but i'm waiting for next gen intel before upgrading.

If your PC is still capable of doing what you want it to then why upgrade? I'm on an i5-2500K and generally don't have a problem at 1440p 60hz.

With games seemingly trending towards multi-threaded CPUs, you may want to consider getting an i7-3770K if you can find one, but upgrading to an i5-7600K isn't going to do much for you at all.

Used 3770k cpu prices are above US$200 on Ebay.

I spotted a Ryzen 5 1500X for just 169.99 on Ebay. With 16gb of DDR4 ram and B350 motherboard would be like US$400

Maybe, maybe not, have to wait and see. But take BF1 for instance, it struggles on 4 cores 4 threads, does much better on 4 cores 8 threads. It'd be unfortunate to upgrade and not really help yourself.
