I recently upgraded my PC with a GTX 1060 3GB Gigabyte G1. The system boots without the card’s PSU 4+4 cable plugged in, but when it is my fan rgbs flash on for half a second and nothing turns on.
My specs are below
ASRock AB350M-HDV
Ryzen 3 1300X
Corsair Vengence LPX DDR4-2400 (2x16)
Gigabyte G1 GTX 1060 3GB
Thermaltake 500W (TT-500NL2NK-A)

Solution
That videocard takes an 8 pin pci-ex connector. From the power supply you should see either a 6 pin pci-ex connector OR a 6+2 pin pci-ex connector. If your power supply only has the 6 pin, then you'll need to either get a new power supply or maybe use a Molex to pci-ex adapter. If you have the 6+2 pin that's great, since 6+2=8 pin which is what you need.

You should not be using any kind of 4+4 connector, that's the wrong one.
