I just purchased a new motherboard (GIGABYTE 970A-D3P AMD970) and processor (AMD FX-8320) and installed them in my system. I get LEDs for the HDD and the power button, but nothing happens when I hit turn the power on. No fans, no beep, nothing changes at all. I've tried a new PSU also. How likely is it that the board is bad? Any other potential solutions?

Its possible that your 24 pin power cord is unplugged. I have built two computers, and both mobos do not let the 24 pin snap in... however, in is a very snug fit. If yours is like mine, it may not be plugged in. Heck, check your ground wire as well. Might as well check a couple wires before spending 100+ for a new mobo(unless you have a warranty. Which you probrably do). Might save a week or two of time.

I actually tried the old power supply with a different motherboard (breadboarding?) and the fans all spun up properly. Is there anything I could have done to fry the motherboard? Or is it more likely doa? I wore a grounded anti-static strap at all times. I'm just trying to make sure I"m not at fault for when I return this thing. Although at this point I guess it doesn't make a difference.
