So, if you guys were folllowing me i had alot of problem with my New gaming pc long time ago and its coming back... System_service_exception (asmtxhci.sys). I just got this yesterday 6/14/16 and this happened when i wanted to change my headset (usb) but when i unplugged my audio and mic jack the System_service_exception (asmtxhci.sys) happened...and now its keep happening when skype opens....i did everything go to safe mode do some cmd and etc....but doesn't work...

Specs ..

ASUS GeForce GTX 970 TURBO-GTX970-OC-4GD5 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5

AMD FD8350FRHKBOX FX-8350

ASUS TUF SABERTOOTH 990FX

WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive

EVGA 500 W1 80+, 500W:

Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB:
Window 8.1 upgraded to windows 10

so do i have to show you my window log again?

i just look at the memory dump file.

either from c:\windows\memory.dmp (for kernel and full memory dumps)
or from c:\windows\minidump directory for minidumps.

you would copy the files to a server like microsoft one drive, share them as public, and post a link.

to find this do i copy and past that direction on run? or do i have to find folder myself?

i found it but when i try opening it...it would say access denied!!! THO ITS MY PC AND I BUILT IT WTF!>??!but do i just copy it and maybe upload it on mediafire?

you are not the owner of all of the files on the pc, in this case the system owns the file and directory.
you do have rights to read the file in the location it is in but not rights to write to the file.

you should copy the file to a location you have full rights to.
do not attempt to take ownership of the directory or actual file in that location it will prevent the system from working correctly. just make a copy and paste it to a location you have rights to.

sorry i was gone for a long time...so basically i copy that file and paste it to like a "new folder" and basically upload to mediafire right?!

that would work.

problem..i dont see the file anymore...i use to but i dont see it anymore?!? and the c:\windows\memory.dmp i tried finding it on run says error so

you use the most current drivers for your motherboard that you can get. so if you have windows 10 64 bit running, you look to see if your motherboard has drivers for that version. if not you can try the drivers from version 8.1 64 bit .

for your system, it looks like asus provided updated LAN drivers, and audio driver for windows 10
and windows 8.1

they provided a usb speed boot utility but you want to avoid that because it will be custom and most likely would not work on newer builds of windows.

Ideally what you want is a updated bios, updated lan and updated audio driver for windows 10 that the motherboard vendor provides.
then you want a update AMD chipset driver that is not on the vendors website except for under the windows 8 section.
it could be that the generic Microsoft driver will just work fine but it might depend on the version of the BIOS you have installed.

you indicated the bugcheck was in asmtxhci.sys but did not provide the file date so I have no idea which version you might have. Custom versions are tied to the BIOS version which was not indicated. You could also go into bios and look under the sections about USB and see if you can turn off usb extensions and you would not hit the bugcheck in that driver

so should i download the bios (even though i have the same version) and maybe repair it? because that happened for the audio and lans driver updates...and you dont have an idea? for why skype is keep crashing when i open it and get the error?

if you have the same bios version, you would just reset the bios back to defaults and reconfigure it.
a qualified vendor list is a list of hardware that the company tested the machine with.
IE they say it works with the hardware on the list.

generally it is a short list that is expanded as they work out timing issues in the motherboard.
for example, for memory it means that the BIOS memory timing tables will be at the correct default values for memory on the QVL. other memory you might have to enter the timings yourself.

there is a lot of competition with motherboards and some vendors will try to get their versions out before new standards are approved. This results in motherboards that have "high speed" or turbospeed versions of hardware on the motherboard.
Problem is a few months or a year later a standard is adopted and the special hardware will not work with generic drivers.
You have to patch the BIOS to remove the special version support, and put out new drivers for the motherboard.
No more superspeed USB or whatever hardware after the patch. (or you could keep the patch and the hardware would only work for the original old device driver )
2012 was kind of a bad year for things like that. Motherboard vendors don't make money on updating drivers and BIOS versions for old motherboards. They want to sell you a new motherboard.

so basically i have to factory reset my bios? (in my bios)? and what about the BSOD?

the factory reset of a bios will force the bios to rescan hardware and assign resources. it is a good idea to do this after changing hardware to avoid certain conflicts that can cause a bugcheck.

if you require custom changes to your bios you would still have to manually make those bios changes.
(sata mode changes for raid, turning off non standard bios functions, selection of special memory timings that are not the defaults, disable hardware you don't use, things like that)

I generally just don't answer questions when I am not provided a memory dump. it leads to too much speculation as to the actual cause of a problem. With a memory dump, i can just see the cause of the problem and recommend how to debug the problem or a likely solution.

yeah i hope it makes it easier but i cant seem to find it....remember how i told you when i check my mini dump files were gone....cuz the first time you told me how to find the mini dump file i found it right...a month later or so its gone i dont think i did anything to the file.... Is there another file "route" i can go to? and how do i manually change those thing....do i go to bios or go to Al Suite ll....

-name and location of a memory dump can be user specified.
-certain programs will remove them (ccleaner.exe)
and maybe cleanmgr.exe
you can search your machine for files with .dmp extensions
you can google your OS version + "how to configure memory dumps" and read instructions on how to set them up correctly. here is one for making a full memory dump:
https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.howto31321.html

(generally for a USB related problem you would want to make a kernel memory dump)

alright im gonna try that..

hey guys....i got my skype back up? no crashes or anything idk what i did but i think driver booster 3 was the problem because when i would update my driver manually the program would tell me it outdated? so i think the problem was driver booster 3...
I will keep in touch if theres another BSOD
