Question T5 portable format

Hi,
I am trying to format my Samsung T5 portable ssd. I got few questions:

• Quick format or format?
• What type of format is the default? When i switch to exFat it gives me many kb options. What do i set there?
• If it keeps insisting about "Scan and fix" should it be ok to do it when I already have files in there?

what the T5 size?
why would it insisting about scan and fix? it is having issue now?

Its 1TB. It insists that it has an error. I press fix and says it doesnt find errors so this is weird.
It disconnects during copy paste thats the main issue i have.
