Hi everyone,

After searching through the forums here and didn't see any directly related post to this. So heres my question.
I am currently running:

Dell Xps Laptop M1710
Graphics: 7950 GTX Nvidia Geforce Go( currently non OC setting)
Ram: 2 gig
Cpu Intel mobile core duo T7200 (Merom)
(very basics of what i got here if you need more to help let me know)

I was wondering if it would be possible to make a CPU upgrade? and if are there any processors that stick out for being a worthwhile to do so with? I have been looking at getting a T7600 as a replacement for this setup as money is not an issue and I want to improve my performance in this system. This machine is primarily used for hard core gaming and does so with little difficulty, but i could still use the extra performance boost. I haven't looked into over clocking the cpu or if its even a possibility at this point but I would be willing to look into any and all suggestions anyone might have.

Thanks.

Ouch on that price. Only thing is though Socket P and Socket M are actually both PGA478 just different layouts for the pins. But still $650 for that?

That's right, my bad. Either way, it's different layout that results in incompatibility that screwed buyers like me over. lol. And yeah, the prices absolutely suck. They aren't much better on e-bay either.

it would have to be the T7600 mobile or the regular one? This would make a difference to me though one that would be worth it.

There is no "regular T7600" unless I'm not understanding what you are asking. Do you mean the ULV (ultra low voltage) CPU?

The one I linked from newegg is the one you need (of course you can get it from other sites).
