My expertise is in Security to an intermediate degree. I'm intersted in how I can add tags to my profile(?) that includes, email, Windows 7/Vista,Laptops, Tablets, Android,Computers,Virus, malware, bots, server breaches(NSA anyone?) security for end-users, wireless networking and setting up your router properly and safely, and I'd like give basic tutorials on reading mime headers and their importance, and how to correct various email failures, Here's a bit about my experience going back to 1972 and the good ;ole PDP11 and later, as a newspaper reporter, the fun of a Tandy "Trash 80". Most of what I know, I learned on my own-a trie knowledge worker who refused to call Tech Support as you don't learn unless you do it yourself! Anyhow, I wanted to add more tags, but they keep disappearing. Also, under profioe, I noticed there is no space to do a brief experience background, so besides mt question, this is a bit about who I am:
Began my career in Tech back in the dark ages of 1972.Helped build what is now the MA CORI Database and tying in to the FBI NCIC system for fingerprints,wrote end-user, computer operator, and other manuals besides training users on the "fine art of data entry"and did the same for the Fed.Maritme Admin. "Flag of Registry Project"-wrote some add on proposals too for both.Moved on to getting an MS degree in Journalism and worked in print journalism as a reporter,copy editor,editor,proof reader, and columnist.Taught College Writing courses in Grant,Tech and Proposal writing as well as Intro to Journalism.Huge range of skill sets from knowledge working and formal education. There's no such thing as a stupid question because if you don't ask, you don't learn.Improving communication skills,helping people,and working to find solutions to problems-often not as complex as we think-has been my life-professional and personal.Currently volunteering my time to Tech Security-together we can make the Internet safer/better.LindaSView
