Taking out a corrupt harddrive

I work for a company that uses a computer to manage their security camera footage. All of the data is saved to an ssd which died.

I have added an external sdd for them to add the cam footage to and it works great.

My problem is the old corrupt ssd. I want to remove it as every time the OS restarts it tries checking the disk and it gets stuck so we have to make sure to cancel the disk check each time it restarts.

I've figured out which drive it is in the PC and was just wondering if I can unplug it and take it out without any issues.

All of the OS and important data are on other disks, this corrupt ssd I want to disconnect and take out only ever carried camera footage before it went corrupt.

Should I have any issues starting up the PC if I just disconnect the bad ssd?

Try it.

Power off.
Disconnect the drive.
Boot it up.
See what happens.

If you know it's hot swappable you don't even have to power down. If it is trouble to get to you can go into BIOS and disable the SATA plug it's connected to. You can disable it in windows as well, but that may not help with boot issue. Unplugging the sata cable from the drive or power cable would work as well, if you can't get into the machine to physically remove it.
