When dealing with propaganda terminology one sometimes always speaks in
variable absolutes. This is not to be mistaken for an unbiased slant.

Doesn't the M1 vent its exhaust to the *sides* of the tank, not to the rear?

No, tanks have a little orange beeper on its rear which beeps faster and faster if obstacle (such as infantryman, iraqi tank or president's limo) is approaching.

Doesn't the forum topic ask if a tank can see behind it? haha

And on the M1A1 tank, I coulda swore they have optical scopes on top that can view in 360 degrees around the tank. Ive seen some with what look like view poinst all the way around, and others that look like they swivel. Besides that, when does a tank really need to look behind itself? Their guns shoot 1.5 miles with computer aided aiming for pin point accuracy.

I understand that they're used in urban combat in Iraq right now, but infantry should be trained to not stay behind tanks and they also play the role of covering the tanks flank.

the commander has the best view out of anyone in like 90% (guessing just want to cover the possibility if some tanks have half and half visibilty with the gunner). In real life everyone listens to the commander, of course, but so far the devs don't really want to impliment this. Try forgotten hope mod for bf 42, the stug will let you see whats going on i the commanders cupola 😀
