[SOLVED] Task bar shows date & time on one computer but not others

I haven't found a setting for this yet, so maybe one of the mavens here at Tom's can.
On my desktop and work computers, the date and time show in the task bar. On my laptop only the time shows.
It one of the few features in win10 I find useful. How does one get both the date & time to show?

right click task bar
choose taskbar settings
Under notification area, click Turn system icons on or off
on next screen, make sure clock is enabled

sometimes its corrupted and invisible, just changing background image can fix that.
another fix is change the theme on desktop

This could be because, you might have opted to have the small buttons on the Taskbar from its properties. If you uncheck the option to have small buttons on the Taskbar, then that would increase the taskbar size and will display the date with the time on the notification area on the taskbar. You may follow these steps:


a) Right click on the Taskbar and select “Properties”.
b) On the “Taskbar” tab, uncheck the option “Use small Taskbar buttons”.
c) Click on “Apply” and then “OK”.
d) Now check if that display the date with the time on the notification area.

I can tell you, switching that option will show date, I just did. I never have date showing so I hadn't noticed. I prefer small buttons though.
