Not sure if this is where to put this thread, but for a month task manager says my PC is using more RAM than the processes add up to. Hasn't been affecting me too much but my games have been freezing much more often ever since this problem began

It says I'm using 50% of my RAM but when I add up the processes I'm using about 35%

There are about 20 processes using 0.1% or less of my memory that aren't shown in the images

I apologize if I messed up the math or I'm missing something obvious

A good chunk of what's in use is data the system has cached from things like web pages and apps that have been opened, it's simply holding the data (i.e. actual web pages) so if you go back to it it doesn't have to download it again or read it from the drives again

Solution
Windows update is the problem.. if you dont want updates.. follow this steps
To disable the Windows Update feature, click on Start > Run and type ''services.msc''

In the window that opens, look for the Windows Update entry in the the right pane.

Double click on Windows Update. In the window that opens, click the Stop service option, and then set the startup type as Disabled:
click apply and ok to apply the changes.. restart your PC and done.. you should be good
