Task manager showing incorrect memory speeds

Can anyone tell me why task manager in windows 8.1 pro says my ram speeds are at 20307mhz? I have 2X 8GB ddr3 and it's a laptop.

also when I hover the mouse over 2 of 2 slots used it shows the same thing slot 1: 8GB 20307 mhz and slot 2: 8GB 20307mhz. I wish haha

Yeah, it's reading something wrong, get the free app CPU-Z and check the memory tab it will show true freq the DRAM is at (so take that times 2 for effective data rate the sticks are running at)

in cpu-z it's showing 800mhz double that for 1600mhz which is what's written on the ram sticks. So should I try re-seating the ram or just ignore task manager? I can't even view ram info in bios it's very limited.

1600 is good, I'd ignore task manager, I've gotten weird reading from it on a number of rigs
