Task Manager showing wrong Memory speed

Hello, I have Acer Aspire 3 A315-41G-R5U3.

It has 4gb of RAM (DDR4).
This what's written on the memory's sticker:
4GB 1Rx16 PC4-2400T
So it's 2400mhz right?

But when I check it on Task Manager, it only shows 1333mhz, also showing Slots used is 1 of 1. But it has 2 slots.


I checked it using CPU-Z, it shows 1200mhz

I want to add another 4gb of ram, but I can't find the same brand.

Could you post the RAM model # or take a picture and post it.
I upgraded that laptop model and it came with 2600MHz DDR4 RAM.
Some Aspire 3 a315 come with only one RAM slot.
If you open the RAM compartment you will see if you have an available slot or not.

Yes, it is 2400 MHz RAM. DDR means double data rate. Every time you see the frequency in CPU-Z you need to multiply it by two to equal what is listed in the BIOS.

I don't know what is going on with "task manager". Are you sure that you are looking at Windows Task Manager (perhaps device manager)? Task Manager shows you the information on the CPU% and memory% usage and info on the applications not device information.


If you google "4GB 1Rx16 PC4-2400T", there is RAM available. If you prefer, you can just replace the RAM that you have with matched sets of RAM.

If CPU-Z is reporting your DDR4 2400 at 1200 speed, that is correct. DDR = Double Data Rate. 1200 x 2 = 2400.
