TCP/IP or PING Issue

I have an issue with a shared printer on a small network. The computers are running Windows 10. Only 1 computer cannot find the shared printer. This one has internet access but cannot PING any internet site nor the computer sharing the printer. What's up with that?

You typically cant ping a website (like google.com).

How is your home network wired? Is their two differnet routers becaue it sounds like there might be a double NAT issue

I just "PINGed" Microsoft and Google and got replies. The network is hard wired and I use only a single router/gateway (I am using cable).

You said the computer can go to websites, but cant ping them?

Could be firewall settings, try dissabling firewall momentarly and see if that works.

Is the computer getting a valid IP address from the router?

I tried looking at Firewall Settings (Norton, not Windows) but I did not disable and check for sharing/connectivity... I am away from the computers for awhile and will see if disabling the firewall has anything to do with the issue.

Disabling the firewall was the trick.

The windows or the norton?

If windows then just dissable it, if norton then see about making your adapter as trusted or whitelist your PCs/Printers IP address (dont really work much with Norton products so not sure what settings they have in their firewall).

With Norton installed, it disables Windows Firewall. I had to disable the Norton Firewall - and was able to access the printer. So I went to the settings for Norton and made the host computer trusted.
