I've played TF2 a bunch. I finally came back to it after a long break, and it started up, the Volvo logo plays, the sound plays, and then it quits.
I've tried the following fixes:
Verifying Game Cache: 3x, once for each install
Reinstalled: 2x
Commands such as -gl, -dxlevelxx, -noborders
Emptying my temp files
Starting, restarting my computer.
Updated nVidia graphics driver to newest stable version
Applied Administrative Rights + Run in XP mode on .exe
Task Manager ending all nVidia Background progs such as tray and experience

My specs are i7, 680m, 32GB RAM, 1920x1080 monitor.
I've tried everything! It's been hours and all I want to do is blow stuff up and go fast!
I'm seriously going to cry here.

Edit 1: Forgot I had updated my graphics card, and also tried administrative/xp mode on .exe file

On my old PC I had a number of issues with TF2 Crashing, my computer could DEFINITELY handle it but no matter what it would crash without any sort of error message.

Eventually I found there was a setting that needed to be changed in the Nvidia control panel (I cannot remember the setting, sorry.) but afterwards I had no problems. Try resetting all the Nvidia settings to default or off and see if that changes things. If possible let the Nvidia settings defer to the program for settings. (Again, this was a long time ago and don't remember if Nvidia has options to let the program handle it by itself.)

I want you to follow these recommended steps but this tutorial has 2 methods:

Method 1: Fixing the game TF2

1. Shutdown TF2
2. Uninstall TF2 from system drive and Install TF2 onto external drive
3. Reinstall DirectX or upgrade DirectX
4. Run a game called TF2 and see if that helps

Method 2: If your problem still persists...

1. Reinstall Windows version you want (Before you go to re-installation of Windows, Please backup TF2 into external hard drive by trying the Method 1 but without all of these steps but with Step 2)
2. Install DirectX
3. Run TF2

If this problem still persists, Buy a new computer.
