Okay so id like to start with this build is a suggestion for a friend.

In the red corner we have

Now you'll notice everything is basically the same other than the cpu. I chose these two because the benchmarks are about even for gaming, although the Intel pulls ahead when using DX12 and Ryzen when using DX11. (and Intel has the bonus of optane)

I could not decide what to suggest so i figured id come here and ask the very knowledgeable community. :)

I know im going to get "fanboy" type answers. (Thats not what im looking for) I just want to know the pros and cons of each system.

You can get a bit more performance with AMD, also it would be better for future upgrades as AMD is using the same socket (AM4) until 2020.
