Using my phone to do this I have a Dell optiplex 790
Gpu is 1050 ti
12 GB ram
550w Corsair
I7 2600 processor
Windows 10

I started. My PC and saw some sort of error. Anyways I tried to repair and it just got stuck trying to load windows. Tried reinstalling with the same windows 10 bootable usb device I used before but I kept getting black screen of death upon installation as soon as I made it to windows desktop and moved my mouse. I was able to get some windows updates installed after sever attempts at wiping my hard drive and reinstalling windows. Only to have my PC freeze during the update restart. I tried with a different windows iso and the same thing happened I was able to install windows updates then it froze when I tried to restart my PC to finish the updates. My hard drive is 1tb ssd but is almost 6 years old . I'm guessing my hard drive is starting to crash? Any advice? I'm having hard time getting windows to load with two different isos.

Solution
the problem occurred a few days after I installed the ram. it was working good for a few days.

I tried restarting my pc again and it failed to load without doing any updates... I took my old ram out and left my matching 4gb ddr3 (8gb total) in my pc. My computer loaded fine and ive had no serious problems yet but I thought I fixed this a couple times already..

I also managed to cut my finger to the bone dang near working on my pc.. I think the bleeding finally stopped but im not sure don't want to take the bandage off to break the clot that's building.

Keep the new RAM out of the system and let me know if everything is ok later. RAM instability is a pain and this is why people always recommend that when you upgrade your ram...
Seems like it was my ram being unstable like you suggested. Im going to mark this as being solved. Thanks for all your help.

Dont ever use different types of ram sticks.

I'm happy your issue was the RAM mixing being unstable together. I wish I had suggested this to you before you buy a new drive. Take care Maximuzzm and if you ever need help again don't hesitate to send me a pm. Have a nice day!
