Technologie improves = smaller die sizes?

If that's true, then even if AMD beats Intel and releases Athlon 64 6 months before Prescott, won't Intel still be better off in the long run since they are already at .09? Also, it might be that Scott isn't a top performer because it's the first CPU to be made at .09 but that's what usually happens when a new technology is adopted, isn't it?
What I mean to say is that Intel may seem behind, but it's temporary.

Smaller dies result in better yields in ramping up clock speeds that larger dies. It is possible for a chip with a larger die to be a better performer, but this usually isn't the case. Also, the smaller die is a good sign for overclockers. So, what that means is if Intel can ramp up the clock with a smaller die, than so can you! But individuals don't have the R&D bonus that Intel or AMD for that matter has. So the overclocker will have WAY many more limits to their ramping potential than a CPU manufacturer have while delving into & improving the basic core.

P.S. Why am I bringing overclocking into this?

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!

Intel is going to .09 because they have to. Amd still has room on the .13 process. All the people on this forum will tell you that Intel has to because they are ahead (except rramjet and the poor departed poopy). Intel still has the biggest buck and the best minds money can buy working on your next chip.
If you are an amd fanboy please enter "ripping you off the most" between working on and your next chip.

How do you figure? Both are pretty much at their feasable limits. Both can push those limits further if needs be, but for too small of a profit if any profit is made at all. Intel just has the resources to dive into 0.09micron first is all.
