temperature and underperforming ?

Hi i just recently got these parts and my cpu idle temperatures are between 50-60 and on full load 75-76. I just wanted to know if my parts are underperforming as well as im getting roughly the same fps as my old parts.

CPU : i7 7700k
GPU : 1070 xtreme gaming 8gb
Motherboard : Asus rog strix z270e
Ram : G.skill trident 16gb ddr4 3000mhz rgb
Cpu cooler : corsair h100i v2

I roughtly got the same fps as my old parts or even less. I might be wrong but I just wanted peoples advice. my old parts were this
CPU : intel i7 4790
Motherboard : B85-E45
Ram : 16gb ddr3 kingston ram
I already updated the drivers and im pretty sure the cpu isnt overclocked as i havent touched the settings. but is there anything else i have to do. i also wiped it

Did your old machine also have a 1070? Those idle temps are high, load is fine though.

I would expect similar performance from both systems if you are using the same graphic card because the i7 4790 is also quite good cpu .

Agreed, if you are trying to hit 144Hz then maybe the 7700k would be slightly better, but not by much, a decent OC would be more beneficial.

yeah the same graphics card. I only have 1 case fan as taking in air. and the 2 fans at the top exhausting
I'm buying two more fans in the front to take in air, rear as exhaust and top as exhaust.

So its not underperforming ? what overclock settings would you reccomend

do you guys reckon if I purchase thermal paste and reapply it the temperatures will go down ? at least in the idle area because I have honestly no idea as most people get 35-45 degrees idle

move one of your fans that is currently exhausting to the front of the case to be an input fan, but you can't because it's a dual fan AIO. Take the side off the case and see what that does to the idle temps. And paste from worst to best would get you maybe 2-3C, so no not worth it.


Increase the pump speed. There's nothing wrong with that high an idle, it will not cause damage, it might be preferable to the noise of higher speed fans and pumps.

I'm also replacing the corsair h100i v2 paste to see if theres any improvement

if anything changes it'll be because you tightened it down more, the paste will make little to no difference. However if it were not tight enough then the load temp would be too high.

I'd suggest a lack of air given the fan profile you've got set up, at higher temps the fan profile ramps up and masks the lack of airflow in the case.

what is your cpu ? Is the thermal paste changed soon ? How many fans do you have ? What is the cooler ? The backgorund usgae of the cpu ?Тhe temps are not bad at all,but if you think you can impreove the idlt temps just answer yourself to these questions
