I'm tinkering with my cooling at the moment and am using core temp and fanspeed to check everything.

Is there a better free package out there that will let me record over time and export to an excel spreadsheet?

If you're just checking cooling, there's not a huge need to log data. I oftentimes just run Prime95 and/or FurMark (depending on what you're stress testing) with HWInfo64 open. Reset the values before you start. Then I just visually watch temps as the respective stress tests are running.

The nice thing about Prime95/Furmark is that they load the CPU/GPU to 100% usage and maintain that load. Whereas a game or something is going to apply varying load.

Yes, but this way I can still game at the same time, and get a more representative look at my personal usage.

I can still do prime as well
