Question Teredo Keeps Disabling

Not sure whats going on, but I've tried multiple routers and modems and also even reinstalled window at one point, but teredo keeps blocking my access to online games such as the Forza series. Now I can get it working again after doing a few commands into CMD and rebooting the system, and it works fine all day, no problems, But once I leave my PC off for the night and when I come home from work, its blocked again, I'll have to do the CMD thing again reboot and its fine for the rest of the day.


I've tried multiple things I've found online, and none seem to work or seems to be a temporary fix, not sure what its deal is lol. I'm running wireless now, but its the same problem with wired, I just don't want a wire routed all over the place. but it makes no difference with Teredo it just goes to block right after the system is off for awhile.

Be nice to fix this and never have to deal with this again, but then again I guess it could be my ISP, they don't have IPV6 so maybe thats why, Its enabled in the modem and router, but no ip is addressed to it.

They have been saying IPv6 is the future for more than 20yrs are it still work poorly even where you do get support form the ISP. I really don't know why console games insist on trying to use IPv6 when there are so many issues.

Teredo is a best though of as a form of VPN. There is some device on the internet that is translating your ipv4 ip to a ipv6 ip. I have never spent the time to figure out the relationship between the company that is providing the teredo function and the company that is running the games. It is not like there is one centrally controlled teredo provider there are many.

Your symptom is very common. Not sure if it that there are time limits on how long you can have these tunnels open or if you get some error and is not restarting. You see very similar issues on vpn providers.

It is not your ISP though since you are not actually using IPv6 they see it all as IPv4 traffic.

I don't think there is a time limit, I've had my PC on for the last day now and its still not blocked, But I bet if I shut it down and go to work for 8 hours and turn my PC on it im sure will be blocked and I'll have to go threw all the CMD stuff again and a reboot here and there just to play Forza with friends.

I didn't have the problem when I was living in Arizona on Cox Communications with a Nighthawk R8000 and their provided modem, I moved to Ohio to help my grandparents, the only option is DSL from Centurylink, though I've bought a Netgear modem and I brought my Nighthawk R8000 and nothing but problems with Teredo and not being able to connect online on Forza Horizon 4 or Forza Motorsport 7 on PC.

Oh well, its not hard to fix, its just inconvenient.
