I'm trying to install 4 x Tesla K80 GPUs in an HP DL580 G7 server. It has P65 BIOS. I connected all the cables inside, I see one green light near the top of each card from the outside when I turn on the server, but when I go in the OS, I do not see any of the cards. When I try to install the Tesla drivers, I can get error saying, "No compatible hardware detected".

I've tried Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows Server 2012 R2, VMware ESXi, Ubuntu 20.04 (didn't boot successfully but not surprised as it's not officially supported), and RHEL 6.10.

In all cases, no nvidia devices show up in hardware list.

Does anyone here have any ideas about this?

Not to necro an old thread, but thought this could be useful for future users. The Tesla K80 has massive PCI BAR regions, that may not be mapped properly by the DL580 G7's BIOS.
I think the Gen8 and above may be the only servers capable of handling cards like the K80, because of this.

That was my conclusion as well. I later on tried those cards on an HP ProLiant ML350 G8 with BAR Resize flag enabled in BIOS service menu and that still didn't work. Ended it up selling the cards as they were unusable in any of the machines I had and I didn't want to have them cable tied to a milk carton with 12mm fans just to run AI models. That would be too undignified.
