"Test Mode" written on all four corners of the screen...

For some time now I have some problems with my Windows Vista 64 bit.

• On all four corners of my monitor I have text “ Test Mode” written. And at the top center it says, “Microsoft (R) Windows (R) (Build 6002:Service Pack 2)” on screen.
• Windows doesn’t go to sleep either from start menu or by selecting a power plan.
• When PC boots from cold just as the boot completes I get BSOD, when it restarts it boots OK.

I haven’t had any hardware changes lately, though I regularly update my Windows. I have also installed new software (mostly music editing).
Other software I have:
I have Norton Internet Security 2009 installed (had no problems with it).
I also have Norton SystemWorks installed. I usually use it for clean ups.

Anybody know about the “Test Mode” thing? How can I cancel this “Test Mode” thing?

U are using an evaluation copy of vista

Thank you for the answer, but as far as I know it's a licensed version. And I have been using it without any problems for more than 1 1/2 years. I think something triggers this "test mode".

from the bulid version you have a test copy of vista you will need to use an oem or retail copy to get rid of this

At home, I right clicked CMD and selected to run as administrator.
At the dos prompt I typed bcdedit /set testsigning off. It prompted back, "The operation completed successfully." I re-started the PC and the"test mode" texts were removed. It worked!

Now I will concentrate on the sleep problem...

hmm sleep problem can be fixed with sp2 but thats if you have not installed it, i know that some hardware out there has a problem with it ie network card etc

You mean the "test mode"?
Well I did explain how I got rid of it...
open a dos command window and just type
bcdedit /set testsigning off
and enter. Then reboot computer.

I'm still working on the sleep problem.
