Question Will there be issues connecting USB C to RJ45 adapter to Console Cable

I will be working on checking ATMs and I would like to know if there'd be any issues with connecting the console cable to a USB C to RJ45 adapter.
I can bring either my thin laptop which doesn't have ethernet port or another one which does, and I'd prefer the former. Do you think there'd be issues if so?

You are going to have to explain a little more in detail what you mean by console cable.

The ones I used to use were used on things like cisco routers and switches. They might look like ethernet cables but they are not. They used cables that were physically similar but they do not run "ethernet" data protocols over them.

These cable you hooked to special USB to serial adapters. These basically covert the newer modern serial ports (ie USB) to the old style serial ports and then convert them to these special cables.

Now if the console port is actually ethernet then you can use either the built in ethernet on a laptop or use a USB ethernet port. The only real difference between a ethernet port that is built into the laptop and one you connect via USB is the amount of electronics it must pass through. The built in ethernet are simpler. To get full 1gbit speed with USB you must connect them to a USB 3 port. There is some small amount of extra cpu used when you use a USB ethernet device becuase the added software drivers the data must pass through.
