Hi,

I was planning on getting a 780ti but I heard in a few months Nvidia will release their Maxwell GPUs with 20nm chips. At the same price level as the 780ti, how much will a Maxwell GPU of about the same price outperform it? And will it be worth waiting a couple of months before upgrading my 7870XT?
Thank you for reading.

I'm currently using a 7870, think its a solid card and wouldnt need to upgrade probably for another year. I'm sure you can wait a few months for the new Nvidia line-up. If its the same price and new, go for it. there will be an improvment. or you could wait for the 780 TI to come down in price

Well I'm a person that really wants the best I can get. I'm playing on 1080p 75hz but I really wanna be sure the GPU lasts long and I can play games on high settings with a very good framerate @ 1080p. I can get a 780ti for about €500 and I can't really go over that. When will the GTX 880 be released and will it be marginally better then the 780ti? If it's 10fps max then I can live with it but if I have to wait for over half a year I very much rather get a 780ti and get 10fps less.

So you think if I would get 780ti now and let's say Maxwell gets released in about 4 months, I will still be able to play games for 1,5 years on 1080p high settings at 80+fps?

I think it would be better to wait for the new lineup as youll have time to get the money together to get it, the performace will hopefully be better, when it comes time to sell it, it will be worth more than the 780ti and it will probably be the same price, but if your desperate for a few frames now, go for the 780 ti
