Hi!
I've bought ASUS EN9800GT TOP/HTDP/512MD3 like 3 months ago. It's an overclocked 9800GT with Glaciator fansink installed. My problem is that I've noticed that the fan does not work as it should. Once I turn on my PC - everything is usually ok. After like 10 minutes my VGA fan just stops. It's very strange, because GPU-Z shows that my GPU temp and fan speed are drastically increasing (although fan speed shows '100%' I know my fan does NOT work in the real :/).

And that's it. The VGA just burns even in 2D mode because the fan does not work. There ARE some moments where I can really hear my fan wakes up, but if PC is running longer than 1 hour - my fan wakes up only for 10-15 seconds. IF it wakes up at all :/.

Thanks for help

omg sorry all. I thought that message hadn't been applied to the server because there were no confirmation and reply. Sorry again. If any admin could delete the rest (I am not allowed to do it myself :|) I'd be pleased.

Google Riva Tuner...download and install it, run, below where it says your graphics card there is a little square and to its left it says "customize..." click that, now click the first icon and it should say "low-level system settings", now click the "fan" tab at the top, click the "enable low-level fan control" box so it has a check, you should have 2 options now, auto and fixed. auto is has a system in it where it will raise the fan speed the higher your temp is and fixed sets your fan speed to constant speed. click fixed and apply...see if that makes your fan turn, if not try again with the auto feature, again if not then go back to fixed and there should be a slider bar with a percentage, set the fan speed to 100%...if it STILL does not work set it back to auto, click the "apply fan setting at windows startup" box and the "restore fan settings after suspended mode" box, click apply and restart your computer that should probably work. but again if it STILL is not working then your card is most likely faulty and you should send it back to your manufacturer....GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for your tips, but all of them were actually tried out :(. My fan just works randomly, I tried manual settings using RivaTuner as well as Asus Smart Doctor. All the software which is supposed to monitor my VGA state shows up, that my fan works in 100% (which is ofc a load of a rubbish - my fan does not work).

But the one thing I can't understand is how the hell a potentially damaged hardware component could be able to wake up for some seconds and then shut down again :|? If it was a real VGA hardware's failure - It wouldn't be able to work at all, right?
