Instead of striking a deal with valve and allowing steam to be installed on the psp with many great indie games like these being played on it or somehow striking a deal with those indie devs to port them to the psp they constantly try exciting its fans with mode of the same. Oh wow another Assasin's creed game when the ds one sucked and the next gen one had many complainers. Oh wow another music game for the hipsters and teenage whiggers to play. Oh you announced one insteresting game (sack boy or whatever it is) but you made it sound like you announced 10 sony which you did not do. Again, not much innovation and people including sony and its fans blame it on the hardware for being too ps2 similar opr for no second analog, etc. when so many great pc indie games on steam dont need any of that. If sony just made it more powerful or those games were somehow playable on it it would be way more innovative because many of those games I wont play on a pc due to them being too low budget and too niche but I would love on a portable while kicking back and relaxing. FOr instance this game:

or this
http://store.steampowered.com/app/11330/

or this
http://store.steampowered.com/app/11340/

all of those games are a lot more innovative than most of those god of war or twisted metal spinoffs they think will get people rilled up or those japanese rpgs number 5 or some crap like perosna 5 or remake of persona 1 or all that bullshet.

Indie devs producing a psp game.....not gonna happen without investment from Sony.
And tbh they wont see a return on that investment which is why indie devs are indie devs.

Dont ever expect Sony to use their position as a market leader to enhance the gaming community when it leads to a loss....corporations just dont work like that.

The PSP is a PSP, not a miniPC, if you want to play indie games from Steam on the go, get yourself a netbook, you'll get better battery life too.

Really though, there's tons of indie games out there for the PSP if you get a custom firmware on it. PSP has a huge homebrew community, and don't expect Steam to be interested in expanding to the PSP because quite simply it doesn't have the user base to be profitable.

the psp usier base is like 50 million people. I'm sure it would be profitable. And netbooks suck because you need to carry an extra usb mouse or an extra usb controller everywhere with you and a backpack.

First of all, 'jap' is incredibly derogatory. I would request that it be removed from the thread title. Second, what does Sony's monopoly on PSP content have to do with the Japanese? What stereotype are you drawing upon?

Third, the PSP is a failure because handheld devices are migrating to the cloud. PSPs and the like with their weak internet capabilities will die off. Eventually handheld gaming will be what Nokia predicted with the N-Gage: integrated with cellular devices, media players, GPS, and mobile web platforms into a single class of mobile device.

Nice post...jap isn't the best short name...anyways considering how the psp is a bit old im sure a newer model can combat whatever crap nokia spits out or similar...some psp reincarnation will come along

And there isn't going to be any steam or any big movements on the psp other than sub par releases....most of the psp user base is and will be hacked units at this point...its so ridiculously easy to steal games and emulate on the psp its sad same goes for the DS....you guys thought pc piracy was easy...
