the color of unselected windows?

okay, so i just got windows 8.1 today, and i'm figuring it out pretty well, i'm fine with no aero theme like there was in windows 7. But what really bugs me is that all the windows that are not selected IE skype, core temp etc on my other monitors have a windows XP look. because for some reason only the window you are using has the color you selected in customization.
i've googled a ton but i can't find anything on it.
i'm really disappointed in the lack of appearance customization options TBH.

so TLDR: can i make all windows the same color, selected or not? if so, how?

Windows 8 does have Aero functionality.
It also has colours just like the previous Windows editions.

The colour that corresponds with your theme will be the colour that the selected windows is highlighted in.

Any windows that are visible, but not selected will most likely be in grey.
