I skipped Win 1 & 2, stayed with dos 1-6 till Win 3 came out. I guess that puts me on a par with those that are now still sticking with XP.

Most home users didn't know Windows existed until 3.11 was released, at least in my experience. I never really used 3.11; I found the whole GUI business too intimidating and stuck with DOS until Windows 95 came along.

I had an old dot matrix printer that would only work with windows 3.1, hence why I moved over from DOS. Pity it doesnt mention the support for multicore/hyperthreading processors in XP Vista and 7, think they're quite relevant.

Wasn't that fun installing Win 95 from a box full of floppy disks, untill I ordered a cd of it from Microsoft, I couldn't find anyone that had 95 in the shops on cd.
Can you imagine trying to install W7 from floppy disks, how many would that be, 2000?

And yes, an installation consisting of 2000 disks would be a royal pain in the a**e.
