Hi,

I am an owner of a HPE-521it and I wish to upgrade my graphic card.

I use Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).

Actually I have mounted an AMD Radeon 7950, 3GB graphic card, ID: 679A, PCI Express 3.0 that functions properly, but it's a bit slow.

The BIOS in my PC is only legacy so I will need to stick with a legacy graphics card.

I tried to install other various graphic card, but all of them without success: NO VIDEO SIGNAL AT ALL.

I have this power supply: KRAUN, model PE600FCA, max output power: 700W, DC OUTPUT: +5V ==/25A, +3,3V==/22A, +12V1==/16A, +12V2==/16A, -12V==/0,3A, +5V SB==/2,5A

I have this motherboard: PEGATRON CORPORATION - 2AB6 - 1.04 - BIOS VERSION: AMI 7.15 (lastest bios avaiable) with 16GB of memory installed.

Could kindly someone suggest me the fastest graphic card that for sure functions properly with my HP ?
A couple of choices, if possible, just in case...

In case there are no faster graphics cards working with my motherboard with legacy, I could also change the motherboard (with another one without legacy, if is this the problem...), the important thing would be to keep the same processor and the same type of ram !!!

Thanks in advance for the attention.

I think the fastest cards that run with legacy bios are the GTX900 series.
The strongest would be a GTX980ti that sells for about $180 on ebay.
You need to research the exact model you are interested in.
I think the msi models may have a legacy/uefi switch.
The EVGA units may need an updated bios.
Thank you for the answer: so changing the motherboard I will not need to change also the processor and the ram modules, but I can keep the ones I have mounted now, correct ?

Could you please advise me a couple these motherboards, brand and models?

Thanks again.

Cesare

Replace the motherboard with a 7th gen chipset like an H77

These are not sold anymore, you should get one on ebay or similar.

Get one with a H77m (micro ATX) to fit in your HP´s case
Gigabyte, MSI or ASUS preferred

The RAM and CPU should fit and run with all H77 motherboards (if you are using more than 2 memory modules, get a motherboard with 4 Dimm slots as well)

I found this one:

Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H H77M-D3H H77 LGA 1155 motherboard Micro-ATX

and

ASUS P8H77-M Pro/CG8270/DP - Scheda Madre Intel H77 Micro ATX Socket 1155#80667

Which among the 2 listed up could be the best one ?

Thanks again for your help and patience !
