I'm looking for a 19" flat screen crt (shadowmask, not aperture grille- I can't stand those two lines!!) with a black case. Cost isn't really an issue, but if I can save money, so much the better. So far I have not been able to find a single monitor with this configuration. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

I think you will simply be forced to buy the monitor of your choice and have it painted black. I cannot think of one single example of what you are looking for. But a Hitachi flat tube monitor would be just what you want once you give it that killer black paint job. Or, if you like trinitron tube qualities WITHOUT the two damper wires, LG makes a "flatron" monitor that claims this distinction. Still, it will require a black paint job.

It can be done. I saw an article on it just a couple of months ago. It is a bit tedious to do, but style is important in keeping us happy--especially when hundreds of dollars are being spent on the item.

Have you tried looking at IBM´s monitors?
They have a Black hardware line!
P.S: Those 2 lines are only a matter of getting used to it!
After that you won´t notice them!

Dell is also making Black monitors (and computers , as a matter of fact!)!
You should check them also!

You can choose NEC MultiSync FE950+ (Black cabinet), which should be nice enough, and IBM should also has some black monitor which use Sony FD Trinitron tube.
