VLC use to be really great, but the last 2 versions or so do not upscale video nearly as nicely as the old versions did. Perhaps it was my moving to win7, but it seems like it use to run a lot more video cleanup in the past that seems missing now. Dare I say WMP looks cleaner, and the win7 version of wmp plays just about anything. Between WMP and Quicktime Pro is there really a need for VLC anymore?

downloaded the newest version of VLC, they seem to have fixed the problem I was mentioning above. Still don't need VLC for anything on my computer, but I would hate to wrongly accuse a program of something that it fixed.

Picture resizer/format converter (which can also add a few mostly useless effects to the finished product) http://www.naturpic.com/resizer/index.html
Recommended by a photographer who writes articles in the tech section of my local paper :) I've used it a few times and it's very useful if you have lots of bmp screenshots or photos you need converting.
