I've struggled with the GMA950 for a while now but I have managed to get a few newish (2004 onwards) games to run on my cr*ppy laptop using 3d Analyse or nothng at all. Could people tell me of any newish games that have got running? I get the occasional graphic problem which I've put below:

Sid Meier's Pirates ( couldn't seeing the dancing unless using 3d Analyse)
Civ IV
Red Alert 3 ( very slow - had to do a lot of messing about )
Kings Bounty
Neverwinter Nights 2
Braid ( doesn't really count!)
Sins of a Solar Empire (3d analyse - choppy through some of the warping)
Half Life 2 ( some graphics problems unless I used 3d analyse)
Company of Heroes (3d analyse)
Heroes of Might and Magic V
Star Wars FPS: ( cant remember which one)

Games I intend to try:

World in Conflict
Supreme Commander ( major difficulties!)
The Witcher (again major difficulties! )

Games I haven't got to work fullstop:

Painkiller
A few other FPS that I can't remember

It really winds me up as I used to have a pentium 4 3ghz with an nvidia something 64MB and 512 ram and i could play Oblivion, Black and White 2, Prey, Deus Ex: IW to name a a few!

Could someone please tell if they have got these games to run on a GMA950:

No One Live Forever 2
Star Wars Republic Commando
Star Wars: KOTOR 2
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2
Supreme Commander (very interested to know!)
The Witcher (very interested to know!)

My Spec:

Acer 5630
T5500 1.66ghz
1 GB RAM
GMA 950

Currently using Windows 7 but was using XP beforehand.

Star wars republic commando works, i play it in low settings at 1024x768 but if you push your machine can get it running at medium. I use a macbook 2 ghz cpu 1gb ram, and the gma 950.

@madmanden you cant play command and conquer 3 with a GMA 950.
i've tried it i have a GMA 950 and cnc3 after about 3 min into the game it crashes. but i have vista so maybe xp is different.

The GMA WILL crash when set with shaders on minimum
to remedy the problem, set shaders to medium
this murders frame rates but takes care of crashing

I can play Oregon Trail, Mario, Pac Man, and the original Mortal Kombat on my laptop's 855GM =D

I also can play HomeWorld 2 on medium.

Despite claims from previous posts. It's really possible to play:

Command and Conquer The First Decade
Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars
Command and Conquer Kane's Wrath
Command and Conquer Red Alert 3
Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising

in a Intel GMA 950. I played all these, through the end of each campaign, no problems, even with the most grafic intesive effects (like nukes in TW).
But you have to do some tweaking.

Generals and Generals Zero Hour, I'd advise that you play on low settings to avoid random crash.

TW, KW, RA3 and Uprising: set the resolution to the lowest possible, but don't choose 800x600 if you have a widescreen model, because it will crash. Set all options to the lowest possible, and then, set Shadder Detail to Medium (just one step higher), and that's it. You can play all these, like I had.

[EDIT] You can add Command and Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight to that, just tested myself. Just set all video settings to the lowest possible and use display resolution 800x600 (otherwise you will run out of vram and the game will crash!). Use gmabooster to improve FPS.
Just as a comment: the game is quite playable with this set up, but the FPS could be better and the graphics look kind of crappy...

hey u knew what devil may cry 4, SAINT ROW 2 ,pes10 ,sims 3 ,farcry 2,bioshock,conquer and commender,the witcher,assasin creed,Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2,ghost recon modern warfare,condemned,manhunt 2,rise of aragonaut,prince of persia(the new one) and a lot a lot of games works with this card gma x3100 and hey anther thing i am hitting on gta 4 does anyone knew if this game work

hii i2have an intel GMA 950 but san andreas dosent wrk on my pc. my virtual memory of graphics card is 32mb is the problem due to low graphic memory

Yes sand of time it is due to low virtual memory...You need atleast 128mb..

i just saw Heroes of Might an Magic 5 on your list of working games on gma950.
Could you tell me, how you managed to run that program?
My version carshes on WinXP short after showing the start- picture.
Using Win7 the programme doesn't even seem to start.
