Those temps are great! Nothing to worry about at all. The Sandy Bridge chips are AMAZING overclockers and you could easily get more out of that CPU with the same cooler.
Great temps man! So I just took my 280x out the box (Grounded my self using a spoon, does that work? Sorry im paranoid about static shock) Man that sexy backplate. So nice! Too bad it doesnt match my PC color scheme.

No, that doesn't work.
But, don't worry. It is actually very hard to fry parts with static.
crap.....ok well...it said it worked online. Its a metal spoon. 100% metal...why wouldnt it? How do I prevent static without a wrist band?
The spoon is not grounded. You could have taken all the electricity stored in the spoon and sent it into the GPU.
All you need to do is stand on a hard surface with shoes or bare feet. NO SOCKS. Then touch something metal AND LET IT GO. Then you have discharged electricity (by letting it go), not built it up. Then touch parts. When you are building occasionally touch the case to discharge. Its that simple.
The spoon probably had a coating or was plated. This is not a good thing to use. Have you EVER been zapped by a spoon? No. What about a door knob? All the time. Use something you know can zap you. That zap you feel is the electricity leaving your positively charged body to the negatively changed door knob.
Haha nice. I have a wooden desk. Arent wooden desks like the best or can they have static? My wooden desk also has a coating of like sticky paper WOOD looking design.
Mirakledba, The H100i is a slim profile radiator so yeah, it is not that thick. You would have a very hard time killing it with static.
You want to ground your self? plug in the power supply with its switch off(the ground is always connected no matter what position the switch is in.) and touch that first.
Honestly like Tiny Voices, I build on tables in carpeted rooms without issues. If I want to discharge, I just have to touch my chair. I always get static from it or 🙁
Nukemaster - My floor is a tile so thats good. I will build on my wooden desk. Also, I meant small by general size of the h100i. Not worried about shocking that, worried if i placed it badly in the box...And what do I touch on the powersupply? I still dont know I/O If i click towards O, that means on? And i?
I have a stupid question, I put my CPU in the motherboard like 2 months ago for a test bench , it worked, so i took the cpu out and put it back in its package....will it still work and are the motherboard pins messed up so is it like a 1 time use? :3333 OCD sorry
For the power supply, just touch the casing it is all grounded.
For the cpu, You should have just left it in the board., but no damage will happen from installing and them removing it.
IMPORTANT. With Intel cpus ALWAYS replace the plastic LGA guard on the board as soon as the cpu is removed. failure to do so can lead to a chance of banding pins if anything touches them. This voids the warranty on most board.
If the cpu is out now, just leave it out until you are ready for it. Remember to clean it well before installing the H80i.
Nukemaster - WELL....I DIDNT PUT THE CPU COOLER ON IT..IT WAS ON FOR LIKE 3 SECONDS and I TURNED it off because i didnt want to clean the CPU after that. And i have the h100i. And yes guys, I did cover the CPU pins with the plastic thing.
Again, i did not put the stock cooler on....or anything. It dindt auto turn off, I turned it off. It was on for like 3-4 seconds and I turned it off...it should still work right?
Uhh, NEVER do that. You can fry the CPU in a matter of 30seconds. NEVER EVER EVER install a CPU and use it with no cooler. That was a REALLY poor decision. Good thing you turned it off so quickly.
I understand that it was only for a few seconds, but you should still never do that. Any damaged caused to the motherboard or the CPU WILL NOT be covered under any warranty.
