This just happened. I turned my PC off to remove an M2 ssd card, and now the graphics/ monitor won’t stay active.

AMD 7 5700x CPU
MSI X570s Tomahawk with WiFi MB
RTX 4060 graphics card.
Predator X3 monitor

Symptoms: When I turn the PC and the monitor on, the monitor’s power light goes on, but then it can’t find the signal. The PC boots, and the graphics card gets power. I’ve unplugged and replugged in both DP and HDMI graphics cables with no difference. I turned off and unplugged the monitor, and pressed the power button for 10 seconds, then turned it back on, with no results either. I’m baffled. Any ideas of what to try will be appreciated. Oh, I really hope that it isn’t a MB problem. I recently lost my line out for my speakers, and I used a work around. The line out just stopped showing up in the Device Manager, even after running AMD’s driver removal program, and then running the install all drivers program. Honestly, right now replacing the motherboard would be a problem. Not only because of the downgrade needed because of cost.

1. make sure bios is up to date
2. double check all your drivers are up to date on your motherboard all of them.
3. make sure your case is not interfering with the cable.

power the machine down.

this happens alot loosen the card from back of the case adjust carefully the bracket at the back and then tighten down the screws at the back while holding the card firmly then put in your dp or hdmi etc.

Good ideas, but not the answer. The BIOS is recent, if not the latest. The Drivers were checked earlier in the day. I removed and re-seated the graphics card. The graphics card is properly locked into the socket. Everything seems to be in order.

And the case isn’t interfering with the graphics cables.

is the m.2 installed or uninstalled ?. how many drives are installed ?.

you may need to reset cmos

as it could be the gpu lanes.

also from my experiance wifi boards are prone to bluetooth and audio problems
I found the problem. Your idea about the CMOS helped. This MSI MB's battery holder is held to the motherboard at the back end by a pin. I went to remove the battery, and the back section of the holder flipped up. The pin in the back wasn't in the hole any more. I carefully re-inserted it into the hole, and everything is working again. I'll need to glue it down to the MB again soon, to make sure that it doesn't happen again. I just need to find an adhesive that won't harm the MB.

cyanoacrylate glue or better known as super glue

shouldnt harm the mb

hot glue is also been used before by manufacturers as long as its non conductive shouldnt hurt anything
