a few messages back ..it was aksed about the pinball bubble...and quite
frankly ..i see it this way...these games are getting scarce....and
with every transaction the prices are going higher.....when a game
changes hands ..money is made..and so forth
the generations that grew up with pinball are now the ones wanting "to
recapture days gone by"....or are wanting too try too find games they
played in the 70's and eighties... (not too mention the older days as
well)...so the money and demand for these games is increasing..

some machines have great play..and others ..the art is the main point
of interest! (for me ..game play is secondary too art and condition of
a game).....and nostalgia is the mix here as well..

i see the prices increasing...and the demand ..due too the internet and
access too games.. on line..as a way for this hooby too keep going
.....and the market for games too stay good! (three of my last games
purchased ..involved the internet at one point or another)

what is going too be the real "deal" in collecting these is.....finding
the "SURVIVOR GAMES" in original condition....that are still around!!
what could begin too hurt the hobby...if we "out price ourselves ...."

we shall see! i am not in the pinball hobby too make money...so i
guess i just look for mint games ..that appeal to me art wise..and
bring back the memories

Prices go up, sure, as everything goes up over time. I don't see what
point you're trying to make, though.

i wouldn't worry about it. sure some people will overpay out of ignorance
but that happens in EVERY market.

I've only been in this a year and the prices on many machines has gone
way up in that time alone. It is definitely getting to the point that
many games are not on route in a given area, so a person of average
income can't play it on location and they can't hope to afford $3,500
for the machine.

It is definitely migrating to a hobby in which only the high income
folks will have access to a great many machines.

well.basically what i am saying is...these games are being used ..and
worn out ...some were worn out in arcades..and some were worn out in
the after market home use....
the point too be seen in collecting these is that ..the condition of
these games helps drive up the price. most people that see my
games...and i am not talking "DIE HARD" pinball fans ...see the beauty
in the art ..and what the game depicts theme wise..

but the condition of the game ..over all makes the difference..and the
price for these will go up as it becomes harder too find good condition
original games! i would pay more for a game that is great art wise
....and theme wise....then i would for a game with a great them ..but in
lesser conditon...

it is hard for me as a collector too find a great game artwise ..and in
strong original condition! than it is too find a lesser..

exactly right..and for a great game in great condition...you got too
pay the premium....
example...3 years ago i passed up a card whiz in wonderful shape.....
because i had seen so many of them ..and they were common.... but
...when you try too find one now in superior
shape...well............................. that is tough to do!

i remember when they were selling these ems for 50
bucks............................................... in fact i got a
1968 williams miss o for free ..cause i bought a gun game from a dealer
...! now it is one of my families "loved" games!!! the art on that
game ..and the memories make it great!!

It would be less of an issue, I think, if there were any playable pins
on location in some areas. I mean, I know of two in the immediate
Woonsocket RI area: A near death Waterworld and a poor NBA Fastbreak
that is leveled so steeply every ball is an SDTM.
