So i’ve been wanting to build the smallest possible gaming solution thats portable and upgradable.
Basically an Intel NUC sized cube that offers upgradable parts and has a slot for a notebook GPU.
If you take a look at the new Mini Stx standard by Intel we’re seeing something very close to this dream I have but it it offers a half baked solution.
Sure you can upgrade the CPU and RAM, Has the appropriate M.2 NVMe ports for super fast SSD etc, but lacks an appropriate slot for a notebook sized GPU card (Geforce GTX notebook cards such as the 980M). WHY!
Would I be correct in assuming that this will never happen, but think that it should?
Yes I could go Mini-ITX (and in fact I have already) but its still generally larger than an Xbox one. I want to build a small, custom upgradable device that is 1/4 of the size and it frustrates me that it should be possible, but isn’t.
