I am building a computer for my parents and younger siblings and I found a great deal on Win 2k Pro and I was wondering if it would be stable and run without a hitch with the tasks that is going to be dealt.

The system is a 950mhz Duron
256 mb PC133
80 gig WD Special Edition
ATI Radeon 7000 AGP

The computer is going to be running basic office applications, music, email and light internet activity as well as some gaming. Thanks!

I agree. Windows 2000 is a lot more stable than Windows 9x. I have been using it for two years.

I only build using 2k, becuase I find it to be the most stable OS I've worked on. Should work a treat on that hardware. Good luck!
