Also I'm not sure you'll be able to record this game with Fraps. Fraps has problems with Sims 1 and so many other old games out there. Try Bandicam, Action, Shadowplay, Dxtory, there are plenty of recording softwares out there better than Fraps I'm sure.

Fraps is a bad choice to record gameplay, because it's old garbage.
If you want to record the sims 1, try to get it running in windowed mode, and then use a modern recording software like OBS/XSplit to capture the window.
