"The system has POSTed in safe mode" Problem

I'm using Asus Z170-K motherboard and GSKILL 8GB (1x8GB) RipjawsV Red DDR4 3000MHz CL15 1.35V Dual Kit Ram. I set XMP on BIOS but after awhile when I re-open my PC, it directs me into safe mode and I have to go back to default RAM settings which is 2133 mhz. Am I doing something wrong or are they not compatible or something?

No, it's just 1 stick. The name may be different but on the site I bought from, it says GSKILL 1x8 GB Ripjaws V DDR4 3000 mhz :/ (F4-3000C15S-8GVRB is the given model number)

1. The Asus Z170-A motherboard is on the G.SKILL F4-3000C15D-8GVRB QVL list, so your Z170-K model should be close enough.
2. Yes, the 2 ram sticks are compatible. Make sure the ram is located in slots "DIMM_A2" and "DIMM_A4".
3. 2133MHz is the fastest speed your motherboard will run memory without overclocking, so don't bother to Enable XMP, just set your memory speed, voltage and timings manually in the UEFI bios.

The Asus Z170-K motherboard manual: 1-8
• The default memory operation frequency is dependent on its Serial Presence Detect
(SPD), which is the standard way of accessing information from a memory module.
Under the default state, some memory modules for overclocking may operate at a
lower frequency than the vendor-marked value. To operate at the vendor-marked
or at a higher frequency, refer to section 2.5 Ai Tweaker menu for manual memory
frequency adjustment.

I'm having the same problem on ASUS Z170-A, after updating the BIOS to 3504 enabling XMP profile result in POST failure.
I have no problems @ 2133Mhz

16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000Mhz DDR4 CL15

As i suggested above, don't bother to Enable XMP, just set your memory speed, voltage and timings manually in the UEFI bios.

What I've realised is that I can't manually change dram voltage for some reason. But when I enable XMP, I see this(below). Does it mean that the motherboard can't provide 1.35 V or that I should somehow manually change that?

And what should the timing be and how can I change it :/

In your UEFI bios go to "Advanced Mode" and select the "Ai Tweaker" menu. In that menu you will see "DRAM Voltage'', [Auto] is the default setting. You can manually change it to 1.350V.

Asus Z170-K motherboard Manual: page 2.5.19
DRAM Voltage [Auto]
This item allows you to set the voltage for the DRAM. Use the <+> and <-> keys to adjust the
value. The values range from 1.000V to 1.800V with a 0.005 interval

I can't click on the "auto". I cant change it :/ The one above on the pic is not dram voltage, it's cpu someting

My guess is there is some other setting in the UEFI bios that is preventing you from increasing the DRAM voltage, perhaps a power saving feature meant for use in laptops. As an experiment go to the "EZ Mode" section of your bios and set the "EZ System Tuning" option to "Performance" and see what your ram settings are, plus see if they can now be changed.

If none of this helps you i would contact Asus Technical Support on their website. They will find a solution for you, or explain to you why these settings can't be changed.
