Big congrats to all the winners! I would have been extremely happy even with just the low end, woulda converted it into a smoking HTPC.

[citation][nom]ScoobyJooby-Jew[/nom]I think on the budget gamer build, it would be cool to limit your the budget to around the most expensive consoles+ an OS. A budget PC vs a console. Consoles may be 4 years old, but it's a guaranteed performance. That would be a real price/performance comparison.[/citation]

You can't build a gaming PC for $200. If you want to compare computers with consoles and build a $400 720p gaming machine (which is what the PS3 80gb [fat] was), then that is quite doable now. Get an Athlon II 245 or something, 4670 or 5570 or something like that, and 4gb of cheap ddr3 ram.

Seriously Rhode Islanites, you need to get over this. It's your own state laws that basically make it nearly impossible for anyone to run a nationwide contest that includes your state. It's not Tom's fault, and I'm sure that Tom's staff holds no ill-will towards the citizens of your tiny state. If you don't like being excluded, petition your state legislators to overturn the law.

Its the same reason Google pulled-out of China, local laws made it too difficult to properly manage their business assets. Rhode Island laws make it too difficult to conduct a nationwide contest that includes RI residents. Google chose not to operate within mainland China and Tom's chooses not to operate (their contests) within mainland Rhode Island. Of course, if you think anyone in China gives a crap about your woes, think again. They have real problems to deal with.

Congrats to the winners! And this is the last time I have AIG manage my entries into online contests. Crash and burn, crash and burn.

Congrats to your state government on failing :)
