Design a system to detect the location of GPS jamming devices. Now keep in mind Dogman how many people it is taking to make a pair of Google glasses, or motion enabled drilling tools? These arent being made in a garage, these are being made in research facilities by people who make bring in 6 figure incomes with 50 man teams working under them (Im generalizing).

I've been in my 10x10 cubicle for over 20 years. And I'm very satisfied with what I've engineered. "All the parts were right there I just put it together". Being homogenized is a state of being that you put upon yourself.
A left field solution: Find a girlfriend/boyfriend. They are really awesome to have. It really helped me a lot.

I don't think that is the issue.

The issue I have is that being a part of one of those teams is a pipe dream. Even if it is something society sees as 'revolutionary', the chances of an individual like me being part of that is worse that the lotto.

Not really. Opportunity for being part of something comes up in unexpected forms and directions. Some will be small too that will fill your life with excellent experiences.
