There is a black screen after installing graphics card driver and restart

Hello, I have a custom build pc,
i7 4970 non-k
8 gb ram
geforce gt 640

After I install my graphics card driver and restart, the screen is black and will not show anything
I have also done research on nVidia drivers and found that not all drivers are stable on windows 10. But any driver I try to install either blue screen during installation or after restart will show nothing but a black screen. Please help.
I need my computer for a school assignment, please help asap!

take the gpu out, and use the iGPU until after your school assignment

ok, but how do i use my graphics card? i bought it for my school assignment because my igpu is just lagging to mush for after effects

no, power supply is ok, it recommend 300w, i have 750w

ok, so i managed to boot into windows, I have gone to safe mode and uninstalled to graphics card driver, rebooted and can see windows through card, but the resolution is really bad

try just one memory stick . its sounds like your memory if you have blue screen.you have to vipe out all video drivers then reboot if you uninstall all in one time then reboot once if not remove wats left the install new ones and reboot again.

i am reinstalling and older version of nVidia driver, 361.91, but the computer black screened again but is still running, i am going to let it run for 10 min and see if the driver installed

ok, so i restarted my computer and everythink is there it says that nVidia installer has finished, i am goging to resart one more time

windows booted, but it doesn't look like the drivers have installed
