there's not a peripheral option- xbox360 controller glitchy

For some reason my xbox 360 wired controllers left trigger is glitchy, when connected to either my xbox or my pc.
What occurs is the left trigger acts as if it is randomly pressed,
in Call of Duty's this means it randomly auto-aims down my sight
in Forza games this means my brakes automatically randomly apply
in sniper elite 3 (PC) this means i randomly zoom in...
the only temp fix is to press the trigger, but it only works for seconds.

It's quite irritating, while i know this site is more for computers, i haven't found comparable issues on google, perhaps i have been searching the wrong thing, but if anyone knows what may be the problem by chance I would appreciate a fix, I can't afford a new controller.

If you can't replace the controller you have to live with this. Sounds like a hardware issue.

you'll have to open the controller and see if there is an obvious reason for why the trigger is messing up. could be a number of things, some of which mean you'll need a new controller. others may mean you can possibly rig it yourself to work. but without opening it myself and looking i could not even guess what the issues may be.

try looking at the right trigger and how it works vs what is happening on the left side. this is where i would start trying to see what the issue could be. overall, though you just need to replace it more than likely.
