Thermal Paste Advice

I've just dished out £1000 on a gaming PC build, both Linus & my friend are saying to remove the thermal compound already on the CPU & replace with a paste you bought yourself, but I'm watching another video & this guy is saying Corsair CPU coolers already come with good quality paste on them, so don't feel the need to clean it off & replace it with your own, what is best to do? I have a h110 cooler and an i5 4690k, if it helps?

You could go with the default paste. If there are problems with the thermals you can always plug the thing off and put in new paste if it is needed.

If you use the stock Intel cooler, the paste that comes with it isn't brilliant and I normally replace it. 3rd party coolers such as Coolermaster will usually have much better paste and don't need replacing.

There's no reason not to use the OEM paste unless you're running into thermal problems. I prefer to replace it with more quality paste because I enjoy the flexibility of overclocking without worrying about issues like overheating.

Apply the cooler with its own paste
Check the temps
Don't overclock strait away leave it for a few days until the compound dries
Check the temps again
