Solution geofelt May 31, 2017 It is recommended to clean off old paste and reapply with new whenever you change a cooler. At idle, you should see 10-15c. over ambient if all is well. at 35c. idle you probably do not NEED to reapply so long as temperatures under load are nominal.

geofelt Titan Oct 9, 2006 56,061 4,859 174,240 May 31, 2017 #4 Clean the old off with alcohol. 91 % pure if you can get it. Use something lint free like a paper coffee filter. Many methods work. I use a rice sized drop in the middle. It will spread out under heat and pressure. It is hard to use too little. Upvote 0 Downvote
